Fundraising activities in Italy

Markets
In summer in the tourist area of Lake Garda there are market stalls for visitors.
In winter there are Christmas stalls at the Franciscan friary in Arco.
There are other occasional markets during the year.
In addition to raising money these markets are a way of informing people about our projects.

Concerts and Shows:
Concerts featuring the Irish band “The Willin’ Fools” have taken place throughout Italy during the summer for a number of years. These concerts have been remarkably successful raising awareness of the work in Romania and raising up to €30,000 per year. The concerts add an element of fun to our image which can sometimes be a bit serious due to the nature of our work.

The choir “Altreterre” from Trento has donated proceeds of performances.
Filodrammatica “Jenesien” and the association “Oasis” by Calavino have collaborated in putting on shows incorporating professional actors and disabled children. These have been most enjoyable and profitable!

Charity Dinners:
The Nodari family of the Hotel Beneco, the Stefanelli family of the Hotel Luna Rossa and the Mazzoldi family of the Hotel Baia Verde have hosted annual charity dinners over the last three years. These have been very successful.

  Weddings, Birthdays, Baptisms
Many friends have used these occasions of celebration as an opportunity to collect funds for Noiperloro. May we take this opportunity to thank all of you who have helped in this way.

Spreading the story
Informally – friends tell others of our projects.
More formally - we are invited to speak to schools and associations about our work.

Requests for funds from companies and organisations
This job is often difficult and involves much paperwork but it is of vital importance because it allows us to acquire substantial amounts of money from private companies, public institutions and charity organisations. Foundation San Zeno (charity organisation), County Trentino Alto Adige (public institution) and Copador (private company) are examples from recent years.

Sending materials
Throughout the year we collect clothes, school supplies, food and games to be sent to Nicoresti. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who help in theis project (including Fathers from Verbiti Congregation with whom we often collaborate). Food donations are particularly useful.

Activities in Ireland

Concerts and Shows
Various bands (the Willin’ Fools, The Dorset Rat Pack, Majella Hickey) have arranged concerts, donating all their proceeds to Noiperloro. The nights are very entertaining with food, great raffle prizes, and a happy lively atmosphere.

Small change collection
Billy Gallagher encourages anyone he meets to collect all their small coins, with every penny adding up. Thanks to all who donate in this way, and to all who get to count it!

Christmas Cards
Through a network of friends and acquaintances we have sold, annually, more than one thousand Christmas cards, made in our workshop in Nicoresti, supporting the work done by the children of our group homes, and also bringing in generous donations. Thank you to all who take the trouble to sell these cards (Donna in Finglas, staff of the Probation Service and in particular Billy and Eithne Gallagher) and to all who buy them.

Our projects in Romania are funded by donations collected in Italy and Ireland. There are three types of contributions:
Unsolicited donations which arrive, often unexpectedly, from friends and acquaintances.
Planned donations from our members. These are a guaranteed and regular source of funding which allows us to plan projects. Noiperloro at present has over 150 members in Italy.
Fundraising Activities It is worth mentioning the various activities which take place in Italy and Ireland.
